The Leicester Wildecats

Formed in 1996, Leicester Wildecats are one of the oldest LGBTQ+ Inclusive Football Teams in the country. We aim to break down social barriers regarding gender identity, sexual orientation and race in football. We challenge all forms of stigma, prejudice and discrimination existing across the sphere of football, as we champion values of inclusivity, equality and diversity.

We're a large family of players and supporters that welcome people of all backgrounds and abilities to join us. We offer our casual Tuesday kickabouts that host a range of players of varying skill levels, and we also offer our more competitive 11-a-side matches in the GFSN League for players of a higher ability. Furthermore, we have a range of other events such as friendly matches, tournaments, socials, prides and nights out.

Being one of the founding teams of the GFSN League, Wildecats have amassed many achievements over the years including but not limited to winning the GFSN annual national 5-a-side tournament six years in a row; Being IGLFA (International Gay and Lesbian Football Association) champions in 2008; Winning the GFSN League Division Two 5 times across the last 15 years; and winning the GFSN Shield 3rd Plate this year.
